Starting 2012 with a win

LS Gallegos was awarded the Colorado Department of Transportation/Colorado Bridge Enterprise Independent Cost Estimating and Scheduling Services Contract.  Key team members include Matthew McDole as Project Principal and Kevin Hartmann as Project Manager.

LS Gallegos to provide Construction Management Support Services for Denver International Airport

LS Gallegos is on selected team to provide CM Support Services for the Denver International Airport South Terminal Redevelopment Project (STRP).

Supporting Hispanic Contractors of Colorado

LS Gallegos will be hosting a table at the Hispanic Contractors of Colorado Annual Awards Dinner on March 3, 2012. This is a premier Colorado event of which LSG has proudly supported for the past 10 years.  Congratulation goes to the 2012 award winners, including Mayor Michael B. Hancock who will be receiving the Community Advocate Award as well as Lt. Congratulations to three LS Gallegos Employees for achieving new certifications!

Brian Johnson tested with the International Code Council and is now certified as a Structural Steel and Bolting, Special Inspector.

Kevin Hartmann achieved certification as Risk Manager by Project Management Institute (PMI).

Christine Tuno was awarded AIIM Electronic Records Management Certification through the AIIM ERM Practitioner Program.

Larry Gallegos Serving on Board of Directors for CMAA

Larry Gallegos was elected to serve on the Board of Directors as Vice President for the Colorado Chapter of Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).  CMAA is the only organization in North America that dedicates its efforts to Professional Construction and Program Management, with over 9,000 members nationwide, including 28 regional chapters and 40 student chapters at colleges/universities, “The Mission of CMAA is to promote and enhance leadership, professionalism, and excellence in managing the development and construction of projects and programs.”  For more information visit http://cmaanet.org/

LSG Awarded GSA Professional Engineering Services (PES) Schedule

LS Gallegos is now a participant of the U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA) Professional Engineering Services schedule (PES).  Under this schedule LSG is able to bid for contracts with Federal Government agencies to provide professional construction management services (SIN Code 871-7). This is a major milestone for LSG to expand its CM Services beyond its current state and local government clients.

American Public Transit Association (APTA) EXPO 2011

LS Gallegos will be attending and hosting a booth at the 2011 APTA EXPO in New Orleans, LA, October 1 – 5.  This international event, held every three years, is APTA’s largest public transit conference and attracts industry professionals from countries around the globe.  Attendees will benefit from the experience of industry leaders and sessions that cover all facets of the public transit industry.  Attendees of the EXPO are invited to visit our Booth No. 6244 to view a demonstration of the newest project control tools LS Gallegos is providing to its clients to manage their capital infrastructure and technology development programs. LS Gallegos Welcomes Melanie A. Urso, Director Document Management and Control Services

Ms. Melanie Urso, joined LS Gallegos’s leadership team in February as a Sr. Consultant and Director of LS Gallegos’ national Document Management and Control Services practice.  Her career encompasses over 15 years of experience as a Senior Operations and Sales Manager for a national document management and imaging company where she held positions as Manager of Strategic Partnerships, National Sales Representative, Director of Operations and Manager of Administrative Services. Her expertise includes, directing commercial and government customers on the selection, implementation and operation of enterprise document management and control software/hardware solutions. Her focus will be on delivering web-hosted, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) document management tools to government clients responsible for implementing major capital infrastructure and technology programs.

LS Gallegos is Member of a Consultant Team Selected by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to Develop the Colorado Rail Plan

LS Gallegos as a sub consultant to PB Americas, Inc will provide consulting services for the development of the Colorado Rail Plan. The State Rail Plan will cover a 30-year period and will enable CDOT to implement an efficient and effective approach to integrate passenger and freight rail elements into a larger multi-modal and intermodal rail transportation system.

LS Gallegos is a Member of a Consultant Team Selected by AMTRAK for a Five-year On-Call Architecture/Engineering Consultant Services Contract

LS Gallegos as a sub consultant to URS Corporation will provide Architecture/Engineering Consulting Services to AMTRAK in Philadelphia for broad range of capital infrastructure projects across the United States.  The contract is a task order based contract with specific scopes of work defined at the time of task order issuance.

LS Gallegos Welcomes Kevin M. Hartmann, Director Project Control Services

Mr. Kevin Hartmann, MS, PMP, CCM, CCC, joined LS Gallegos’ leadership team in January as a Sr. Consultant and Director of LS Gallegos’ national Project Control and Information Technology services practice.  His career encompasses over 20 years of progressive Project Controls and Information Technology consulting experience in the heavy/civil construction industry.  Prior to joining LS Gallegos he served 5 years in a leadership consulting role to the Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) implementing enterprise project control systems for RTD’s multi-billion dollar FasTracks Program.  Mr. Hartmann also provided project control consulting services on projects for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Army Corps of Engineers, Washington Area Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Tennessee Valley Authority, Department of Defense (DoD), San Diego City Public Schools and NASA.

Denver International Airport (DIA), South Terminal Redevelopment Program

LS Gallegos is a member of the Program Management Consultant team awarded the contract for the DIA South Terminal Redevelopment Program. This effort includes design and construction for a 500 room hotel and conference center; RTD’s East Corridor Commuter Rail Transit Station; a rail transit bridge; and other improvements.  LS Gallegos is providing on-site project controls support including, document control, cost estimating and project administration.

Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) Transit Partners Eagle P3 Project

LS Gallegos is a sub consultant member of the private consortium awarded a multi-billion dollar contract to design, build, finance, operate and maintain component projects of the RTD’s FasTracks Program.  The component projects include: the 22-mile East Corridor Electrified Commuter Rail Line connecting Denver International Airport with the Downtown Denver Union Station; the 11-mile Electrified Commuter Rail Gold Line connecting the City of Arvada with Denver Union Station; a short segment of the Northwest Rail Commuter Rail Line; and a Commuter Rail Maintenance Facility.  LS Gallegos is leading the document management and control systems implementation effort, and will provide on-going document management and control operations support during the final design, construction and operations start-up phases of the project.

U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), Professional Engineering Services (PES) Schedule Application Proposal for SIN Code 871-7, Construction Management Services

LS Gallegos prepared and submitted an application proposal for award of a GSA PES Schedule Contract.  LS Gallegos currently holds a GSA Mission Oriented Business Integrated Services (MOBIS) Schedule Contract 10F0343P, SIN Codes, 874-1 Consulting Services, 874-6, Acquisition Management Support and 874-7, Program and Project Management.  Holding a PES Schedule Contract will allow LS Gallegos to compete for federal agency construction management services contracts procured under the PES schedule.

July 2010

Bay Area Rapid Transit District, San Francisco, CA, Construction Management Support Services Contract

LS Gallegos was awarded a sub contract by the prime Construction Management Support Services Contractor to provide a team of on-site construction field inspectors to oversee construction activities for BART’s on-going rapid transit capital rehabilitation and extensions program.  Immediate inspection assignments include BART’s Station Earthquake Retrofit Program and the Oakland Airport Connector Program.

6th Annual National Veteran Small Business Conference & Expo, Las Vegas, NV

LS Gallegos hosted a booth and attended the three day, Annual National Veteran Small Business Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, NV.  This conference and expo brought together 2,500 small and large federal contractors, and over forty federal agencies.

Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) 8-on-8

Federal Agency Event and Small Business Industry Day

LS Gallegos hosted a booth and attended the SAME 8-on-8 Conference in Aurora, Colorado. The conference provided an opportunity to network with representatives from several federal, state and local government agencies and to learn about upcoming business opportunities.

Rocky Mountain Small and Disadvantaged Business Opportunity Council (SADBOC) Trade Fair
LS Gallegos hosted a booth and attended the Rocky Mountain SADBOC Annual Trade Fair in Denver, Colorado. The SADBOC council promotes the marketability of small, veteran, minority, and women businesses in the Rocky Mountain Region to government agencies and commercial enterprises.

LS Gallegos attended the 2010 APTA Rail Conference in Vancouver, BC.  This event is North America’s largest and most comprehensive conference for the rail industry, and was sponsored by the APTA and the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority (Translink). Attendees benefited from the experience of industry leaders and sessions that covered all facets of the rail industry.

Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Owners’ Night

LS Gallegos sponsored and attended the 2nd Annual CMAA Colorado Chapter Owners’ Night in Lakewood, CO.  Mr. Ron Saxbury, CCM, a senior member of LS Gallegos’ Project/Construction Management Group, chaired the committee organizing the event.  The event was attended by over 100 members and guests, including three speakers representing the Denver Regional Transportation District, FasTracks Program, City and County of Denver Better Denver Bond Program, and City and County of Denver International Airport.  The speakers provided information about their respective capital improvement programs.

Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce Small Business Outreach Event

LS Gallegos attended the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce Small Business Outreach Event. The conference provided excellent networking opportunities, as well as education and training to small business owners about working with federal defense and civilian government agencies and prime DoD contractors.
